Giovanni’s Pizza founded in 1979 is owned by Indras & Tilly Govender together with their daughters Kimara and Navina, longtime residents of Santa Barbara.
Indras started out as a part time employee at the State St. Santa Barbara location in 1991 and went on to own the Isla Vista and Goleta locations as a franchisee in the 1990’s through to the mid 2000’s. The Govender’s took over the original State St. Santa Barbara location in 2021 and have come full circle from employee to owners and are eager to welcome you and your family to enjoy the best pizza in town.
We are very proud to announce the opening of our second location in the Target Shopping Center at 6831 B Hollister Ave, Goleta, CA.
Giovanni’s has remained a favorite local, family style eatery, serving fresh and delicious Italian food daily.
We have served the local community, public and private schools, countless family special events, children’s sports groups, local art festivals, and hosted locals to watch sports events over pizza, pasta and drinks in our dining room.

Our pizza is known for its hearty, crusty dough, made fresh daily and allowed to proof overnight which our local customers declare the best in town.
The recipes are traditional and have not changed since 1979, testament from the family generations that frequent our establishment whether local or visiting from afar.
