Santa Barbara Outdoors & Exercise

Since Santa Barbara is tucked between the Pacific Ocean and the Santa Ynez Mountains there is no shortage of great opportunities for outdoor recreation. Getting plenty of exercise is easy, whether it’s renting bikes for rides along the ocean; taking surf, stand up paddleboard or kayak lessons; or taking a hike on one of the many nearby trails. If you are an equestrian there are a number of nearby locations both near Santa Barbara and just over the hill in the Santa Ynez Valley where you can horseback ride tailored to your skill level. The foothills offer great mountain biking trails and yoga studios and health clubs are happy to welcome out of town visitors looking to work up a sweat.
